About Ivy Singles Plus Membership
Below is information on
ISP membership and how to sign up—if eligible—in order to
automatically receive invitations to events.
ISP is sponsored by the Yale Club of Washington in cooperation
with other Washington-area alumni associations representing eight Ivy League
schools as follows: Brown*/Pembroke, Columbia/Barnard, Cornell*, Dartmouth,
Harvard/Radcliffe, Princeton, U. of Pennsylvania*, Yale; plus associated alumni
associations representing MIT*, Stanford,* U. of Chicago*; and Oxford
(honorary). To join ISP, one
must be an undergraduate, post graduate or held a teaching position at one of
these institutions. ISP
members may bring guests from other universities if reservations are made and
there is enough room on the guest list. Because of current membership ratios,
members are discouraged from bringing women guests although eligible single male
guests may be invited.

ISP Mission Statement
Ivy Singles Plus (formerly Ivy Over 50 Singles) is a voluntary organization of mature single men and women who are graduates of Ivy League and other premier universities. The club organizes events so that members can meet together throughout the year and invites to membership over-50 singles that have an interest in participating in a variety of stimulating intellectual, social, cultural, and athletic outings. Members are expected to attend these events as singles.
Website: www.ivysingesplusdc.org provides membership information, a membership form, six-month calendars of events, brief summaries of upcoming events, and an archive of past events.
Also, if you are concerned about weather cancellations or other event changes please check “Event Updates.” To the best of its ability, ISP will both e-mail members and post “heads up” under Event Updates index item when needed.
Please note further that ISP no longer places full invitations on its website. Instead those wanting to participate in an event will find on the short-form web announcement, an e-mail address or telephone number. Either of these may be contacted for full information on membership and an upcoming event.
Membership Information Sheet and Sign Up Form: Attached is an Ivy Singles Plus sign up form. To join ISP please fill in and mail it, along with a $10.00 administrative fee, to Betsy Hendrix, ISP Treasurer (see form below). Those who are both eligible and decide to join will be added to the e-mail list and receive all communications automatically. (For security reasons, this list is never shared with others; only three ISP Board officers have access to it.)
Making reservations: Once you sign up for an event and your check is received, directions and additional event information will be sent to you. All members are encouraged to come to events alone. As mentioned above, because of imbalance in gender ratios, we strongly discourage members from bringing female guests (temporary policy); single males who are eligible for membership are welcome.
